Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushkamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stated that he is ready to go to jail if he is found guilty in any corruption case.

Speaking at a meeting of Bagmati Province in CPN (Maoist Center) on Monday, Prime Minister Prachanda said that he is seen as guilty in cases like the Gold Smuggling and has prepared himself to go to jail. Central member Yuvaraj Chaulagain informed.

“In the case of gold, various media have mentioned Mahara(Krishna Bahadur Mahara, VP, MC) name. The police are free to investigate this matter. If they find someone guilty, it’s not just Maharaji who will be implicated, even I feel like I’m being cornered,” Chaulagain quoted Prachanda as saying. “When the Prime Minister said this, there was tumultuous applause in the hall.”

In the case of the nine-kilogram gold seized from Electric Vape, Maoist Vice Chairman Krishna Bahadur Mahara and his son Rahul Mahara have been involved. They have had repeated telephone contacts with a Chinese trader who has been arrested. This fact has been revealed in the investigation of the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police.
