The governing coalition’s violent action has blocked the legislature : Chair Oli

Kathmandu: K P Sharma Oli, the Chairperson of the Nepal Communist Party (UNL), has stated that the ruling coalition has forcibly blocked the functioning of the parliament. He said that the government itself is responsible for the obstruction of the parliament.

After discussions with President Ramchandra Poudel, Chairman Oli revealed that the President had expressed his desire to end the ongoing conflict in the parliament and to find a positive resolution.

“There was a discussion about ending the deadlock in the parliament. President Poudel expressed that things should go smoothly when the parliament convenes. I said it needs to be opened, and he said it should be opened,” Oli said while talking to the media.

Oli further added, “The obstruction of parliament is not due to us, but rather the government has forcefully blocked the parliament. This obstruction should be lifted by the government itself.”

After the discussion about ending the parliament deadlock, President Poudel had invited Oli for further discussions. Oli went to the Shital Niwas (President’s residence) after the discussion. A discussion of approximately an hour took place between President Poudel and Oli.
