Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has stated that he will continue the agreements and understandings reached earlier during his upcoming visit to China.
During the parliamentary session on Tuesday, Udaya Shumsher Rana, a member of the Nepali Congress, raised a question about the agenda of the upcoming China visit. In response, Prime Minister Prachanda mentioned that he would continue the agreements and understandings reached before.
He also mentioned that discussions will be held with the Chinese side to further strengthen Nepal’s economic and trade relations, and to enhance cooperation in curbing duplication.
Mugu’s Member of Parliament, Aain Bahadur Shahi, asked the Prime Minister, “Is there a plan to discuss the matter of opening new trade routes during the upcoming China visit?” In response, Prime Minister Dahal stated, “During the upcoming visit to China, discussions will take place on opening new trade routes. The issue of opening Mugu’s trade route will definitely be addressed.” Prime Minister Dahal also emphasized that the government prioritizes the development of the tourism sector in the Rara Lake area of Karnali Province.
Prime Minister Dahal is set to visit China in the last week of September. This time, he will discuss with the Chinese authorities the demands of the locals to open the northern routes. Even local residents, including businessmen from Gandaki Province, have demanded the operation of the Korala route of Musatang district to China and the operation of the Pokhara International Airport. These issues have been mentioned as the priority of the Prime Minister’s visit.
