‘Work in a way that denizens feel responsible government’

Jajarkot, Nov 7: President Ramchandra Paudel requested the people’s representatives to work by making short-term and long-term for the earthquake victims in a way that denizens feel the essence of the responsible government in a democracy.

President Paudel who had reached the earthquake-affected area on Tuesday, said that there must be thorough thinking about action plans in a meeting with people’s representatives of Jajarkot, denizens and quake victims.

President stressed that tarpaulin sheets for immediate accommodation should be readily available and temporary houses should be built to provide warm shelter in the cold months as well as to build a permanent home after identifying suitable land for long-term use.

He also urged people to be alert and vigilant as tendencies such as fraud and cheating the quake victims during difficult times can happen.

Kiran Pokharel, the Press advisor to President Paudel, said that the President assured that the necessary shelter, food and other basic needs would be arranged and that the President would make a call to the government.

Advisor Pokharel, quoting the President’s statement said, “Arrangements will be made by identifying short-term and long-term needs. There is no need to worry about it, I will talk to the government about that.”
