Rukum West distributes relief to quake victims

Rukum West, Nov. 28: The District Administration Office, Rukum West, has finished distributing financial assistance to all earthquake victims whose family members were killed in the November 3 quake.

The administration has provided relief at the rate of Rs. 200,000 to the families of each deceased.

Chief District Officer Hari Prasad Panta said that relief was provided to 53 families whose members were killed in the earthquake.  

In case of the death of one person in a household, Rs. 200,000 was provided and in case of the death of two or more than two persons of the same household, an additional Rs. 100,000 per person was given. 

According to CDO Panta, the relief has been provided to the families of 50 households in Rukum West and three families in Salyan. 

The Rukum West administration distributed the relief amount of Rs. 8.3 million while the District Administration Office Salyan distributed Rs. 500,000.

According to the details, 37 persons of 24 families in Aathbiskot Municipality, 10 personsof six families in Sanibheri Rural Municipality, one person from Chaurjahari Municipality, one person  each from Rolpa and Bardiya districts and three persons of two families in Salyan were killed in the earthquake. 

Similarly, two persons of Aathbiskot Municipality and two persons of Sanibheri Rural Municipality died in Jajarkot. 

Their family members have submitted the necessary documents for the relief. 

The District Administration Office Rukum West distributed relief from the ward office while the DAO employees reached the houses of the deceased whose family members were unable to come to the ward office to receive the relief amount.
