Nepalgunj, Dec. 17: Lumbini Province Police Hospital of Nepalgunj conducted first-aid training for police personnel to prepare them for emergencies. 

The motive of the program was to train police personnel to rescue and treat the victims of accidents. 

“Considering the situation, Lumbini Province Police Hospital Nepalgunj has given training to police stationed at Lumbini and Karnali province,” said Amit Kumar Shrestha, Head Technical Senior Superintendent of Police. “As the police are the first to reach during any incident, accident or disaster the training is also provided to give initial treatment, especially on fracture management,” he added.

20 police personnel from Lumbini Province and 20 from Karnali Province participated in the training program. Dr. Alok Pandey from Ojus Hospital of Bhairahawa, Dr. Dinesh Shrestha from Nepalgunj Medical College, Dr. Prakash Thapa from Bheri Hospital and Dr. Vijendra Adhikari of Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital from Kathmandu conducted the training programme.

“All the personnel who took the training are ready to give first aid to victims,” said Dr. Aasha Singh, Medical Director and Technical Assistant Inspector-General of Police. “Police personnel from other provinces and districts should also be given training programmes,” added Singh.
