Three people die in bus-truck collision; 27 injured (With name list)

Bara, Dec 20: Three people died and 27 others sustained injuries in a truck-bus collision in Bara district.      

The accident took place when a passenger-ferrying bus (Ba 3-001 Kha 2587) en route to Kathmandu from Kakadbhitta and a truck (Na 7 Kha 7300) from opposite direction collided nearby number 3 bridge in Amlekhgunj this morning.    


According to Bara Police Spokesperson Dadhiram Neupane, the deceased have been identified as truck driver Purna Gurung, 28, of Tanahun, bus driver and Hari Shumsher Suwal Thapa, 40, of Hetauda, Makawanpur. One is yet to be identified, he shared. The three breathed their last while undergoing treatment in Hetauda.    


Seven critically injured persons were taken to Hetauda and Chitwan Medical College, police said. Other 20 injured persons are being treated in local hospitals, it was informed. 

The injured have been identified as Tej Kumar Gurung, aged 17, from Bandipur-6, Tanahun, Khil Raj Dulal, aged 30, Bhadgau Sinawari-2, Sunsari, Co-driver Nagendra Upreti, aged 40, Damak, Jhapa, Surendra Gautam, aged 40, Itahari -4, Sunsari, his 35-year-old wife, Samjana Gajurel, ) their 12-year-old daughter, Soraya Gautam and their three-year-old, Sodname Gautam. 

Likewise, three people from Arunachal Pradesh, India, Sidimaya, aged 52, Shriya Dhauga, aged 42, and 47-year-old Pasang Kandu. Binod Tamang, aged 30, Maijogmai-5, Ilam, Bir Bahadur Tamang, aged 36, Chulachuli-6, Ilam, Chandra Bahadur Tamang, aged 30, and Birkha Bahadur Tamang, aged 24, from Madi-9,  Sankhuwasabha, Manoj Kumar Limbu, aged 36, and Prabesh Patel, aged 20, from Chulachuli-3, Ilam,  Punam Gurung, aged 19, Kamal-5, Jhapa, received an injuring in an accident. 

Chomit Lepcha, aged 25, Kaliganj, India, and her 29-year-old Namgyal Dorge husband and their two-year-old daughter Maya Lepcha. Hari Narayan Bishowkarma, aged 49, from Arjundhara, Jhapa, Anil Kumar Thapa, aged 54, from Itahari, Sunsari, Dhan Bahadur Limbu, aged 42, Bahradashi, Jhapa, Ami Shrestha, aged 21, Urlabari, Jhapa, and Tshering Palden, aged 19, from Arunachal Pradesh, India, also sustained injury.  (RSS)
