Engineers are conductors of nation-building: PM Prachanda

Kathmandu, Jan 3: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has urged engineers to stress on building the modern infrastructure saying that the engineers are the conductors of the nation-building. 

Addressing the inauguration program of the 16th National Convention of Engineers in Kathmandu on Wednesday, the PM said that progress in sectors, roads, transport, industries, energy, information technology, agriculture, and tourism is important to make the country prosperous under infrastructure building. 

The PM said, “Engineers are the conductors of the nation building. Development activities are underway in the country, and progress in many infrastructure sectors is necessary to make the country prosperous under the construction of the infrastructure. For that, there needs to be development in science and technology along with its apt utilization.”

The PM said that he is positive about establishing the engineering staff college. 

He said, “The Nepal Engineers Association has been stressing establishing the engineering staff college for a long time to strengthen the capacity of the engineers, for professional development and upgrade. I am positive on the demand.”

“The government needs to target its activities towards building infrastructure in the upcoming days, so it is necessary to have proper mobilization and management of engineers and technical manpower at federal, provincial and local levels.” PM Prachanda added.
