Construction of Hetauda substation to complete in a month

Kathmandu, Feb. 14: Construction of the substation in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City of Makwanpur-11, Thanabhayang has reached the final stage.

To strengthen the electricity transmission and distribution system within the country, the 400/220 kV, 220/132 kV and 132/11 kV substations are under construction within the Hetauda substation.

With the goal of completing the construction and charging within a month, works of final stage such as connection and testing of the substation equipment are going on, according to a press statement of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

In addition to the electricity supply in the national transmission system through the substation, electricity will also be supplied locally from the substation.

Managing Director of NEA Kul Man Ghising, who visited the construction site recently, said that the progress made in the substation was satisfactory.

Ghising discussed with the project management and construction professionals involved in the construction and instructed them to complete the rest of the work and bring the substation into operation within a month.

There are three power transformers of 315 MVA capacity in the 400/220 kV Hetauda substation under construction under the Hetauda-Dhalkebar-Inaruwa 400 kV substation expansion project with the investment of the government and the NEA.

Under the project, 400/220 kV substations in Dhalkebar and Inaruwa have been completed and brought into operation.

A contract was signed in December 2018 for the construction of substations in Hetauda and Inaruwa.

The 220/132 kV Hetauda substation has been constructed under the under construction Hetauda-Dhalkebar-Inaruwa 400 kV double circuit transmission line project for strengthening the electricity transmission system within the country and for power export to India.
