Dharan, March 27 : Church Boys United has entered the semi-final of the Itahari Gold Cup underway in Itahari. The team defeated the New Road Team (NRT) 2-1 in the quarterfinal match held at Itahari Stadium on Tuesday.    

Church Boys United’s Abayomi Fakunle and Suraj Thakuri scored one goal each to secure the win.   

 
NRT’s Afiz Olawale saved his team’s repute by scoring a goal. Abayomi scored in the 37th minute of the match to put his team in the lead, while NRT’s Olawale scored in the 82nd minute against Church Boys, who took a 1-0 lead in the first half.    

Thakuri of Church Boys was declared ‘man of the match’ in Tuesday’s match. He received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a trophy. Tribhuvan Army Club will take on Sagarmatha Football Club today. (RSS)
