Flood in Sinsawa River blocks Tamor

Taplejung, June 13: The flood that occurred in the Sinsawa River of Phaktanglung Rural municipality, Taplejung District has blocked the Tamor River. The incessant rainfall that poured all Wednesday night triggered a flood in Sinsawa River blocking the Tamor River.  

The flood along with the landslide occurred at Sinsawa River which flows near the Administrative Center Tapethok of of Phaktanglung Rural municipality. 

According to the ward chair of Phaktanglung Rural Municipality Rajan Limbu (Mukti), the Tamor Corridor road, linking the Phungling municipality and Phattanglung rural municipality, grapples with blockades due to flooding in Sinsawakhola, situated in Tapethok, Phattanglung-5 Tapethok. A huge pond is formed following the blockade, however, the water blockade is slowly passing.

No human casualties have been observed despite the heavy flooding, however, cultivable land, trees, saplings and cardamom cultivation washed away. 

The rural municipality by releasing a public notice has urged its locals to be on high alert and safety informing that the water level in Tamor River has leveled up and other rivers and rivulets are witnessing the same.
