Problem of tents and food for disaster victim families

Rukum (West), July 18: There is a shortage of relief materials in the immediate management of the flood, landslide, and monsoon disasters induced victims in Rukun (West). The aid has been requested from various agencies as managing the construction of shelter and food has become difficult. 

According to the Chief District Officer Hari Prasad Pant, tents have been requested for 1,709 households in three rural municipalities. The meeting of the District Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee has called for assistance for the immediate management of the disaster-affected families. 

There are around 1,700 families in the three rural municipalities that are at a high risk of floods. There is a shortage of materials including tents for the immediate management of the temporary shelter of those families.
