Kathmandu, Aug.8: The government is going to provide free treatments to the dengue patients admitted in the government hospitals.
Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Paudel has decided after discussing with the heads of departments under the Ministry, Federal Hospital Division Center, Health Institute, and Medical College.
Minister Paudel has decided to run the vigilance and awareness programs in his office, establish a dengue desk, appoint a focus person, and manage the treatment plans.
According to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Dr Prakash Budhathoki, the prevention and control of dengue is possible only with collective efforts therefore there is a need of extensive community mobilization and multi-sectorial involvement is necessary.
The Ministry has urged all to join hands in the purpose and to be vigilant pointing that the risk of dengue infection is still there.
So far, 2,365 people have tested positive for dengue infection in the 73 districts of the country and one from Tanahun has succumbed to it from January this year.
