Kathmandu, Oct.2: There is a risk of flood in nine districts of the Koshi Province as per the forecast of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
According to the Division, there is a risk of medium flooding in nine districts, Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Panchthar, Dhankuta, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, and nearby districts. The division has urged all to exercise high vigilance for the next three days.
The Division has urged people living in the river bank areas to be cautious especially while indulging in any activities near the river bank saying that the water level in small rivers flowing through Bhojpur, Khotang, Solukhumbu, Udayapur, Ramechhap, Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Kaski, Lamjung, and nearby districts is expected to rise as per the forecast.
Likewise, the water level will rise significantly in Kanaki River but will not cross the danger level, therefore, settlement around that area is urged to be on high alert.
Likewise, even though the water level in the major rivers, Koshi, Narayani, Mahakali, Karnali, Bagmati, East Rapti, West Rapti, Babai, will have mild ups and downs, people are still asked to exercise caution.
