Kathmandu, Dec.3: President Ramchandra Paudel has said that differently-abled people need to be able to live life with dignity and self-respect with intact identity.
Wishing on the occasion of the 33rd International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) today, President Paudel said that all kinds of discrimination based on disability need to be banned.
He said that the purpose of the constitution is to make differently abled denizens equally and meaningfully participate in the nation-building process like all other able bodies.
The President said, ” It is necessary to identify the different able people who are deprived of education, health, and employment opportunities and establish equal access to all opportunities provided by the country.”
He stressed making physical infrastructure such as government offices, schools, public vehicles, parks, roads, temples, and other private structures, to make disability-friendly for people with disabilities.
